Hey guys, today I am reviewing the first ever pressure washer from PressurePro. It is the Pressure Pro E3027HC Heavy Duty Professional 2,700 PSI 3.0 GPM Honda Gas Powered Pressure Washer With CAT Pump (CARB Compliant).

There are many pressure washers out there that are great for home or business use. While some promise certain functions and features that are supposed to last a long time, there are many that just barely made it to a year or two. If you’re looking for a great pressure washer that can be of your service for many years to come, the Pressure Pro E3027HC is a perfect choice for 2 main reasons:

The Pressure Pro E3027HC is powerful and easy to start and use. Probably the best feature it has is its powerful 6.5HP Honda GX200 engine that is super quiet compared to other power washers. It also has a CAT brand triplex plunger pump which helps the pressure washer to run cool and when in bypass mode, its thermo sensor prevents overheating. This CARB compliant pressure washer comes with a wand assembly and an insulated gun that’s high quality and professional. It also has 5 nozzles that are quick connect, allowing you to switch them on the fly. It also comes with a 50-foot steel reinforced high-pressure hose.

As with most professional pressure washers, the Pressure Pro E3027HC is rather large and heavy. It weighs approximately 88 pounds, and its dimensions are 32 x 22 x 25 inches. It is not exactly portable; however, it is good to know that it has wheels and a handle so you can easily move it around. If you don’t have much storage space in your garage, you wouldn’t appreciate the bulkiness of this washer. It doesn’t have a chemical tank, but it comes with a siphon hose.

Conclusion:

I give this model 4.5 Stars Out of 5. The Pressure Pro E3027HC isn’t exactly perfect that’s why I am giving it 4.5 stars. It’s good enough though as it has all the features one would need from a pressure washer. If it had at least 3000 PSI, I would have given it a full 5 stars. There are some little things here and there like how the nozzles, gun, and hose are stored, but nothing too critical. It’s also great that it features a Honda engine as it is one of the most reliable in the market.

Pressure Washer Pump Replacement Guide

If you have read my article The Pump is the MOST IMPORTANT PART of any Pressure Washer you will understand that the pump is the most critical component of a pressure washer. Most of the cheaper pressure washers will have a Axial Cam pump while the more expensive models will have a high quality Triplex pump. One of my readers asked the question: Can you replace and axial cam pump with a Triplex pump?

The answer to this is yes it is totally possible. It may be an expensive task to undertake and most definitely should not be done unless you have a broken axial cam pump that needs to be repaired.

So if you are thinking about replacing an Axial cam pump with a Triplex you will want to make sure that you check out your engine manual. the instruction manual should give you detailed information about your current pump as well as supplied drawings and measurements. Once you have the information you can better find a Triplex pump for replacement.

Some of the more important things to look for include the orientation of the pump in regards to the engine and how it is mounted. Basically you will need to see how it lines up once mounted to fit your current engine. You will also need to match up the PSI rating as well as the GPM rating so that you do not have something that is too powerful for your engine to handle. Other crucial information you need to match up the diameter of the shaft and know if it is solid or hollow.

Sometimes a universal Triplex pump will work but like I said to make absolute sure the pump will work before you buy it is to measure everything. There are a ton of universal pressure washer pumps available to buy. Just make sure you get one with the correct PSI and determine if you need a vertical mounted or horizontal mounted pump. If you are just looking to fix or replace your pump, a cheap universal model make work for you. If you are looking to upgrade to a model that is a high quality and will last a long time be sure to look for a Triplex pump.

The question always comes up, “Should I buy a new pressure washer or just replace the pump?” To answer this depends on what your intentions are. Almost all of the electric pressure washers have non-replaceable pumps. There is just no way around that. You may be able to make slight repairs on them but you will not be able to swap them out for a higher quality one. You will also need to determine the cost of a new pressure washer and it’s advantages over replacing the pump on an older model. Maybe you want a more powerful unit.

Replacing the pump is a great way to extend the life of your pressure washer. As long as the engine, hose, and other components are in tip top shape you will be able to use your pressure washer for many years to come. Also be sure to take care of your pump at the end of every season by using a pump saver.

AR North America is a well know brand in the pressure washer category. Their motto is “First Choice When Quality Matters,” and I would have to agree with that. Even though most of their pressure washers I have reviewed are lower cost models, they do feature excellent build quality and I feel like you get more value for your money. They have been in business for over 50 years and assemble both residential and Industrial machines.

The AR Blue Clean AR383 is an electric pressure washer that features 1900 PSI at 1.5GPM. Since this is AR North America we are talking about you get one of the best pumps around being an Annovi Reverberi Triplex 3 axial-piston pump. Like I say in all of my reviews, the pump is the most important thing of any pressure washer. Since this unit is only using 1.5 gallons of water per minute, you are saving about 80% water verses your standard garden hose.

The full unit is made out of 3 components: Copper, Plastic, and Aluminum which presents a rugged design with excellent build quality. Here is my take on the overall unit:

Pros

Very lightweight – easy to move around. I believe it weighs only 27lbs.
good power for an electric washer. You can easily clean your car, driveway, deck, and more.
low GPM helps save you water

Cons

The plastic hose adapter can leak at times. I found that if you go and get a solid brass male to male hose adapter you can fix the problem completely. Most of the negative reviews are due to this problem. Plastics never seem to hold up with water so it is best to use brass when possible. If AR North America was to switch this part out they would have to raise their price. Luckily if you do have a leaky one you are covered under a 1 year warranty and they will replace it for you.
This is an UPDATE to the leaky adapter. They now include a new leak-free part in the box. Great Customer service, so all of the negative reviews that you see should be fixed with the new included part. If you purchase one that doesn’t have this part just call them up and they will send you the new leak-free part.

Conclusion

If you are looking for an electric pressure washer I would highly recommend this or the Sun Joe SPX3000. They are both a great value and have thousands of happy customers based on all reviews. Now that the AR Blue Clean 383 comes with the new part to fix the leaky hose adapter I would have to give it 5 out of 5 stars so check it out.

Review: Simpson PS3228-S PowerShot 3200 PSI 2.8 GPM Honda GX200 Engine Gas Pressure Washer

Simpson makes some excellent pressure washers and the PS3228-S is one of those. This is one of the best-selling gas pressure washers around. Let me start out and tell you that this is probably the best gas pressure washer you can buy for the money that features at least 3100 PSI. This Simpson PS3228-S actually features 3200 PSI at 2.8 GPM. If offers one of the best motors you can buy which is the Honda GX series. These motors are very well known, desired, and reliable. I would have to say the only downfall of this unit is the Simpson brand. Some people have had bad experiences with them missing parts. Even though they may make mistakes here and there, their customer service Usually fixes the issues in a timely fashion.

Features:

The Simpson PS3228-S overall gets 4 out of 5 stars and here is why. It offers high end parts at a low cost. This pressure washer is under $500 most of the time and includes the Honda GX200 OHV engine. This engine is commercial grade, unlike the consumer grade GV Honda engines. It delivers high output that will last a lifetime. You engine will most likely outlast the pump. The Honda GX 200 OHV has an estimate run time of about 1 hour before you have to fill the tank with gas if you are holding the trigger the entire time. If you are using it intermittently, you can expect it to run around 2-4 hours before you need to fill it with gas.

Speaking of the pump though, the Simpson pressure washer comes standard with one of the best pumps you can buy and let me tell you that the pump is the most important part of any pressure washer. The Triplex pump has ceramic coated pistons and powerboost technology that provides a much better and more powerful cleaning performance than a standard pump using the same engine horsepower.

Other important features of the Simpson PS3228-S include a welded steel frame that makes this model very durable. It also includes 5 stainless steel quick connect nozzles in your standard degree options: 0, 15, 25, 40, and soap nozzle.

Pros:

Quiet – quieter than some of the other engines I have heard.
low profile – can easily fit into small places for storage like a van shelf if you are using it for business.
Lightweight – can easily lift it out from the van and move it around.
Price – great price for the features you get.
Great Engine – Honda GX200 OHV is one of the best.
Excellent Pump – AAA high quality Triplex Pump

Cons:

Simpson customer service can be difficult at times to work with

Conclusion:

Like I said I give this power washer a 4 out of 5 star ratings simply for the fact that it one of the best selling gas pressure washers for a reason. It has excellent high quality components, but I have to knock of a star because I am just not that fond of the Simpson brand. Hopefully overtime they become a better company but for the components and price, I would have to still say this is a must buy pressure washer if you are looking to do a lot around the house or even use it for business use. It will get all the jobs done that you need to complete.

The engines is covered by a 3 year warranty and the pump is covered by a 5 year warranty. This is something that is very important to a lot of people considering the price you are investing.
