Review: Powerstroke PS80519 2200 psi Gas Pressure Washer
Powerstroke PS80519 gas pressure washer is available in a handful of different configurations based on the type of engine.
For this review I am going to focus on the cheapest Powerstroke gas model being the PS80519. All of my finding will pretty much be the same for the other models being that the only major difference is the engine. With the larger engine you will get more PSI out of the unit so it will be able to clean things faster and get out tougher stains. Some of the other models also have a built in soap/detergent compartment. This is certainly handy but is not that big of an advantage to me.
Amazon has these other options available:
- Powerstroke PS80519 also available at Walmart #: 550422284 or under PowerStroke PS80616
-
Powerstroke PS80533
-
Powerstroke PS80950
-
Powerstroke PS80995
Here is a quick comparison table about the different models of PowerStroke Pressure washers available. These are considered the best selling Powerstroke pressure washers. There may be other models available like the Costco only PowerStroke Subaru 3100 PSI Electric Start Pressure Washer w/ Battery which you can check out my review here. I also recommend you check out my review of the more powerful PowerStroke PS80544 as well.

The PowerStroke 2200 PSI Pressure Washer Features:
- Outputs 2200 Pounds of pressure per square inch from its small 140cc engine. It will run about 1-2 hours on a single tank of gas.
- It is very efficient with water producing 2.0 Gallons Per Minute.
- It includes 3 spray nozzle tips as show in the picture below as well as a bottle of oil and a detergent hose so that you can pump out soap and water at the same time
- Small form factor with 7″ wheels that can easily push the light weight machine around.
- PWMA certified. Pressure Washer Manufacturers’ Association products are put through rigorous testing and must comply with certain standards to be certified. Knowing that this model is PWMA certified means that you can trust the build and quality without having to worry.
Product Advantages
Some of the most common benefits of this product consist of:
- The cleaning capacity. This machine is perfect for cleaning decks, patios, walkways, siding, cars, furniture, and other outdoor equipment.
- Easy to start engine. As long as I primed the engine, I was able to start this unit with 1 or 2 pulls max. It did not require a lot of force to start the engine either. The cord felt sturdy and glided easily.
Conclusion
Overall I think that the PowerStroke 2200 PSI pressure washer is a very good all around unit. It is great for just about any job around the house and doesn’t have so much power that it will destroy things when you are not careful. I would rate this a low to medium duty pressure washer and if you need something more check out something with at least 3000 PSI. If you are someone who is just upgrading from an electric pressure washer, you will love the added power that you get from this product.
Review: Generac 6602 OneWash 4-In-1 PowerDial 3,100 PSI 2.8 GPM 212cc OHV Gas Powered Residential Pressure Washer
The Generac 6602 is one of the best-selling gas pressure washers.
UPDATE: after using this for mainly household chores like cleaning the driveway and patio, I noticed that the negative wire connection clip keeps coming off due to the engine vibration. To fix it, I just tighten the clip but it can be annoying at times especially when the unit is still very hot. Also make sure that you click the hose nozzles all the way in. I did not at it shot across my entire yard after the first trigger pull. Speaking of Pulls, the unit fires up almost instantly most of the time as long as you are using the choke properly. Some times it takes 2 pulls to start but overall it has been very easy to start.
Features:
- 212cc OHV engine – very powerful and one of the best in class engines available. It produces 3100 PSI at 2.8 GPM which is capable of cleaning just about anything around the house. When I made the jump to a gas pressure washer I had to have something with at least 3000 PSI to work correctly with a surface cleaner. Anything with a lower PSI just took longer to clean and left streaks on the concrete driveway.
- PowerDial Variable-Pressure Control – this allows you to easily adjust the pressure to clean something as hard as cement or as soft as car paint. Being able to adjust the pressure is a handy feature as you do not want to damage items while cleaning. This unit also includes 3 quick connect nozzle tips in the range of 0°, 25°, soap applicator.
- 30′ hose – most of the time you get a 25 foot hose or smaller. Adding the extra 5 feet is really beneficial so you do not have to keep moving the power washer around and can focus on getting those tough stains out.
Conclusion:
Overall I give the Gererac 6602 4 out of 5 stars. I removed a star mainly because of the packaging. The black and yellow wires that go to the power switch were off and I had to figure out which one goes where. These should not be getting disconnected during shipping. Generac makes some great pressure washers and the 6602 is one of the best in the under $400 price range. I love the 212cc OHV engine and it is rated as the largest and most powerful engine in its class.
If you are looking to save some money and do not need all the power, you can check out my review on the smaller Generac 6597. This unit is very similar and will save you about $100.

I have not researched what stores carry this pressure washer as I find it weird that Briggs & Stratton, who are known for their quality engines, decided to make an electric pressure washer.
Actually Amazon does have the
If you contact Amazon chat they may be able to price match the deal for you. It is worth a shot. It seems like an excellent pressure washer that is backed by a quality name brand. The electric motor can produce 1800 PSI with an unheard of 4.0 GPM for an electric pressure washer. As of writing this article, Amazon only has 8 left in stock, so if you are in the market for a great deal on an electric pressure washer, this may be a good choice.
Their high flow pressure washer allows you to reach the second story of a house due to the increase 4.0 GPM. Seems like a great pressure washer and I would love to get my hands on one to do a full review of it. Do I Need a Hot Water Pressure Washer?
I hear people ask the question “Do I need a pressure washer that can handle hot water?” all of the time. The simple answer to this question is probably not. Unless you are running a commercial cleaning business you are probably not going to need to purchase a hot water pressure washer. Just think of it this way. Whatever a standard power washer can clean with cold water, a hot water pressure washer can clean it faster and a lot better.
When you wash your dishes at home do you use soap and cold water to clean? My guess is no. You must use hot water to break up the oil, grease, soap and other items. Cold water will just push those oils and grime around. Do you also notice that if you wash a plastic container with just semi warm water and soap and then you can taste the soap still a day after. This is because the soap was not completely washed off. Using very warm water will wipe away the soap that cold water just pushes around.
So, back to our original question. Do you really need a hot water pressure washer? If you are cleaning basic things outside of your home like a driveway, fence, deck, patio, or your house the answer is NO. if you are going to be cleaning automotive items like an engine or other greasy parts, the answer will be YES. Basically anything that has to do with grease will require the use of a hot water pressure washer.
When it comes to costs, you will find that a hot water pressure washer is going to cost a lot more than your standard power washer. This is due to the extra feature inside the machine that takes water from your hose and heats it up. When you attach your garden hose up to the pump, water is pushed through it and then makes its way through a heating coil that wraps around the unit quickly boiling the water depending on the type.
There are a few different types of heated pressure washers. They include:
All of these pressure washers are going to give you a very similar experience. It comes down to how much you are willing to pay and how you want to heat the water. Maybe you have FREE natural gas provided by you association. Maybe Diesel gasoline is cheaper and easier to come by. You need to outweigh the options to be able to determine the correct model for you or your business.
Lets take a look at the NorthStar Gas Powered Wet Steam & Hot Water Pressure Washer – 3,000 PSI, 4.0 GPM, Honda Engine.
You can see that the unit has a large tank that hold and heats the water. It also has 2 gas tanks. One to put gasoline only in and one that is used to heat the water. You can put in Diesel, Kerosene, or Fuel Oil. Now lets take a look at the price compared to a cold water pressure washer with the same specs. A hot water pressure washer with 3000 PSI and 4.0 GPM will run you around $3500, while a standard cold water pressure washer with 3100 PSI and 2.5 GPM will run you under $400. As you can see there is a big difference. Overtime however you will save that money by being able to cleaning more items in a faster amount of time.
